Interesting Facts and Tidbits about Joshua and his journey. . .

Joshua admits he's a mama's boy . . . awww!

Joshua's top favorite routines on the show

This is a question he couldn't really answer. He had so many routines he fell in love with so the list is long. The reasons he shared for loving each routine were touching, moving and, yes, understandable.

Joshua's top 3 least favorite routines from the show:

1. Disco (too many lifts w/ Chelsie, not enough dancing, too tiring)

2. West Coast Swing (difficult beyond imagination for him/Katee)

3. Jive (last routine of the whole competition?he and Courtney were all out of gas)

Routines he's most proud of:

1. Mia Michaels' contemporary, Hometown Glory (danced w/ Katee)

2. Wade Robson's contemporary, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room (danced w/Katee)

Routines that were the hardest to learn:

1. West Coast Swing, Benji Schwimmer had choreographed it on a professional level, really, really, hard, and he had to bring it back a few notches for him and Katee.

2. Hometown Glory, Mia Michaels was rough because Mia asks so many things of the dancer and he and Katee wanted to please Mia.

3. Argentine Tango, Dmitry Chaplin brought out the best in him and Chelsie.

Routines he wished he could have performed:

1. Pas de Deux (danced by Will and Katee)

2. Krump (danced by Twitch and Kherington)

3. Mercy/Door routine (danced by Twitch and Katee)

Rituals on the show and beyond:

Prayer--he prayed a lot.

Stretching, lots of stretching

Routines that created the most stress:

1. Bollywood (Was first ever on the show, pressure to perform it well.)

2. Hometown Glory (Mia is 'golden' and pushed him and always wanted more.)

3. Frankenstein Hip Hop (Dave Scott is a hip hop giant. He had to 'murder it' to represent his genre.)

4. No Air (The last signature move when he and Katee do the exchange of the shirt.)

Dancers on the show who inspired him the most:

Everyone. They each were different but brilliant in their own way and there was something in everyone that helped him to be better and to step up.

The meaning of the hand sign he threw right after his win was announced:

His left hand, he made an F, and his right hand, a W, symbolizing his hometown of Fort Worth and in honor of his little cousin Danny, a.k.a. Bucket, who was shot and killed before the auditions. Many thought this was a gang sign, couldn't be further from it!

One of the most lasting things Joshua takes away from the experience:

His relationship with Twitch. He views him as a big brother, like family, who he loves and respects.

Dancers on the tour who he thought stood out:

Thayne got the gold medal. He was the hardest worker and so, so sweet. He worked his butt off. Gives huge props to him.

Differences in dance class in L.A. versus everywhere else:

Dance class in L.A. is not even like dance class. It's not like you're practicing; it's like you're performing. It's crazy and why everyone is so good. You might as well add like lights and cameras.

Worst part of being on tour:

Got slammed on the tour, danced so many routines-- it was tiring. It was a good thing but a bad thing at the same time. Waking up different times in different cities and dragging your stuff in and out of hotels. Dealing with the injuries while maintaining a high quality performance every time on stage.

Memorable moments of being on tour:

1. Performing for the audience as the biggest thing.

2. The down time when the group was in their own little bubble, parties and chillin' in the back of the bus.

3. Just being on the road and seeing so many cities.

4. Thrill of walking across the Golden Gate Bridge with Twitch

5. First time seeing Times Square and going to Broadway

Most important figure on tour:

Jeff Thacker was the brilliant mastermind of the tour and became like another father figure. He is admired and revered by the dancers.

Ways he spent his $250,000 winnings:

Paid off his car

Moved to L.A. and got apartment (no roomies)

Recently bought a PlayStation 3

Saving the bulk of it for his future

Life changes since the win:

Me, me, me, Joshua says of himself, "I'm more mature, I'm more of a man. I'm living on my own. I'm taking care of business and my responsibilities. It's hard for me to say no, but I'm getting better. I'm learning to be more like steel, more firm."

Cars on his someday to own list:

1. Bentley 2. Roll -Royce 3. Lamborghini or Aston Martin

Things people might not expect:

He loves speed and fast cars, loves to race cars, dirt bikes

He loves plays

He would like to do a Broadway show

He wouldn't mind doing a Disney production like High School Musical

He would like to do a reality show

He would like to try out for American Idol (if politics don't get in the way)
