GET READY FOR SUPERBOWL with Flatlander Chili!
A healthy, lean protein-packed dish perfect for the chilly months.
3 pounds lean ground turkey
1 (46 fluid ounce) can of tomatoe juice
1 (29) can tomato sauce
1 ½ cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 chopped green bell pepper
¾ cup frozen corn
2 chopped carrots
1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1/3 cup chilli powder
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ tsp dried oregano
Place ground turkey in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
Add all ingredients to a large pot (add corn near the end of cook time). Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
OR for crock pot, brown turkey and add all ingrediants together. Cook on low for 8-9 hours
